Colchuck Colors Original
There’s something about the mountains, the trees, the rivers and skies that are magical. Something that’s deep within our souls that want to connect with that magic.
I’ve always wanted to capture those feelings and moments within my paintings so I can share with others. Something I’ve never been able to do with a photograph or explaining in words.
This is one of my favorite paintings I painted last year after a hike I went on up to Colchuck Lake and spent a few hours sketching this out on paper and exploring the area in detail. Looking at the subtleties of color, the trees, rocks, the jagged peak, the turquoise glacier fed lake and capture all the feels of what’s so special about this place.
As the sun started setting, Dragon tail peak started changing color into a brilliant brown as the sun hit it just right, it was pure magic and I wanted to capture just that.
I ended up hiking out with the last mile in the dark with a headlamp, but it was totally worth every moment
Original 24 x 36 x 1/2
