A Shift in Perspective
If you know me quite well, you know Im a bit impulsive and spontaneous, ‘adulthood’ is for the birds I say. With putting trust into the unknown, it all fell into place in an astonishing and distinctive way and Hawaii brought me in with open arms the beginning of November.
Around this time last year not knowing what would unfold, I completely leaned into my inner voice and decided to choose myself first. I started to let go of the illusion of control and let go of things in my life that were not inline with my true self.
The process isn’t pretty and diving deep into healing isn’t what you’d expect, nor is it for the faint hearted, but sitting in stagnation wasn't an option for me either.
I don’t believe I could keep pushing my art and understanding of the world if I were never curious, vulnerable or ever searched where my edge is. And I dont need validation to continue down my path, nor do I need you to understand it either.
I believe the best things in life aren’t going to come easy and have to seek out discomfort if you want something better for yourself.
It’s crazy where a year will take you depending on what you focus on and choosing myself was top priority. I am starting to remember how much I love creating art, writing and putting more intention into my words, spending time with people I love and with that, I’m feeling more of myself than I have in a really long time.
I truly believe if we show up for ourselves first, we can show up for others with more love, compassion and authenticity.
Black sand beaches, brilliant sunsets, bluest of ocean waters and Mauna Kea in all her bold beauty.
